Among cross-country skiers, the region around Lake Fuschl has long since earned itself a very good reputation with more than 140 kilometers of perfectly prepared trails in 7 different venues. From classic cross-country tracks to trails for different levels of proficiency, every cross-country skier is sure to find a suitable trail.

The cross-country skiing location Faistenau does not only boast approximately 55 km of wintry snow-covered trails, but also provides great service away from the tracks.
Ample car parking, changing rooms, showers and toilets, hire equipment and preparation space are available both to dedicated cross-country skiers and those who simply want to get out and enjoy nature. Two floodlit trails also allow you to enjoy a romantic trail adventure after dark.

NEW: Since December 2010, there has also been one trail with guaranteed snow in Faistenau!

A free shuttle bus takes you from Fuschl or Salzburg directly to the cross-country trails in Faistenau or to the skiing region of Gaissau Hintersee.

Take the brand new ski lift uphill, and whizz down the 170 meter snow tracks. Everything is prepared for a great fun afternoon together with your family.
The snow tubing track is located only a couple of minutes on foot from the main square in Faistenau. Approximately 50 inflated tires (tubes) are available for you to use.

Night tubing fans will also get their fun fix
The tubing track is floodlit on demand during the week (prior reservation required) and is generally floodlit on Fridays and Saturdays until 9 pm, as well as on Sundays until 8 pm.

What is snowkiting?
In recent years a new type of winter sports activity has gained steadily in popularity: snowkiting. Drawn by the force of the wind filling a large kite, skiers and snowboarders can glide across snowy pastures or even be pulled up the slopes.

This sport is extremely versatile, allowing for relaxed cruising through powder snow or extreme freestyle tricks and acrobatic high-speed jumps. Expert kiters can jump up to 10 meters high and travel 200 meters through the air.
