Panoramic circular hiking trail around Lake Fuschl

The 12-kilometre panoramic circular hiking trail around Lake Fuschl is one of the highlights for hikers and Nordic walkers in spring. A leisurely stop for a fish snack at the fisheries at Lake Fuschl is a must.

The approximately three-hour hike can also be shortened: part of the route can be covered in a relaxed manner by Zille, an electrically powered wooden boat. It runs regularly between the lake promenade in Fuschl am See and the fisheries near the castle of Schloss Fuschl – a particularly beautiful combination of exercise, nature and pleasure.

Hike up the Schober – our local mountain with panoramic views

The hike up the Schober, Seewinkel's local mountain, is one of the most popular tours in the Fuschlsee region.
The route is somewhat challenging, but the climb is rewarded with an unforgettable view of seven lakes. The first highlight of the tour is the Wartenfels ruins, which offer an impressive panorama of Lake Fuschl and the surrounding region. From there, the route continues to the summit, where the view stretches across the entire Salzkammergut region – an experience that is well worth the effort.

Pleasure tour on the Faistenauer Schafberg

A hike for connoisseurs – the tour on the Faistenauer Schafberg combines exercise, nature and authentic mountain hut cuisine.
The route leads through idyllic forests and across blooming alpine meadows to the Lanzenhütte, where you can enjoy what are perhaps the best farmer's doughnuts in the region.

A magnificent view of the Salzkammergut region and the surrounding mountains makes this hike an unforgettable experience for body and soul.

Stop for refreshments and enjoy – huts with heart and taste

What would a hike in the Salzkammergut region be without a cosy stop for refreshments? Around Lake Fuschl, you will find rustic alpine huts and places to stop for refreshments, where food is still cooked with love and regional ingredients.

Whether it's freshly baked farmhouse doughnuts, a hearty platter of cold cuts or smoked fish from the fisheries at the castle of Schloss Fuschl – here you can taste the Salzkammergut in its most authentic form. A cool drink on the sun terrace and the view of the mountains make for a perfect day of hiking.
